BVI COVID-19 Entry Protocols

To protect visitors and the people of the British Virgin Islands, the following protocols are in place

Revised April 15, 2022:
  • As of Nov 16 2021, fully vaccinated persons travelling from overseas are no longer required to complete the entry protocol and do not need to advise travel details. A person who is fully vaccinated and presents a RT-PCR or approved rapid antigen SARS CoV-2 negative test result taken within two (2) days, along with his/her vaccination card is not required to be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival into the Territory and is permitted to move freely within the Territory, OR
  • A person would be required to provide proof of a negative RT-PCR or approved rapid antigen SARS CoV-2 test within five (5) days of arrival and provide satisfactory evidence of being fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated travellers will be subject to a Rapid Antigen Test on arrival at $50/person and, if negative, is permitted to move freely within the Territory.
  • From Apr 15, 2022, partially vaccinated persons travelling from overseas require a PCR test within (5) days of travel; provide satisfactory evidence of being partially vaccinated, and will be subject to a rapid antigen test upon arrival in the Territory (day zero) and, if negative, is permitted to move freely within the Territory. Where fully vaccinated persons are travelling with one or more unvaccinated child:
  • Minors 17 years and under travelling with vaccinated parents/guardians entering the Virgin Islands are exempted from applying and registering to enter the Territory via the BVI Gateway Travel Application Portal, provided that upon entry to the Territory, each minor provides to the relevant authorised officer the results of a negative PCR test or antigen rapid test no older than 5 days.
  • Upon receipt of a negative test result the minor accompanied by the vaccinated parent/guardian will be allowed to move freely within the Territory.

Unvaccinated Travel Requirements:
  • From Apr 15, 2022, unvaccinated persons travelling from overseas require a PCR test within (5) days of travel and will be subject to a rapid antigen test upon arrival in the Territory and, if negative, is permitted to move freely within the Territory. Details to be uploaded to BVI Gateway
  • Where people are travelling in mixed groups with some individuals unvaccinated, the entire party will be treated as unvaccinated.
