Shopping

The British Virgin Islands provide a good range of shops for visitors from local artwork and jewellery to gifts and souvenirs. The main shopping area in Tortola is in Road Town although Nanny Cay and the artist community at Trellis Bay are both well worth a visit.

In Road Town, a variety of shops can be found by strolling along Main Street and at Tortola Pier Park. Galleries selling original artwork and scenic prints of the islands, precious and semi-precious gemstones from the jewellery shops, and BVI Gin from the local distillery are worth looking out for.

For provisions, the larger well-stocked supermarkets on Tortola offer most of the items you can find at home. Smaller grocery stores for essential items are conveniently dotted around the islands.

The main shopping areas in Virgin Gorda are at Spanish Town. Groceries, gifts and souvenirs can also be purchased in Leverick Bay. The islands of Anegada, Jost van Dyke, Marina Cay, and Cooper Island also provide a variety of stores
