Imagine waking up surrounded by tropical flowers, stepping outside to your private pool and having the beautiful beach and clear waters of Mahoe Bay just a few steps away. That is Caribbean Wind — a spacious and welcoming beachfront home on Virgin Gorda designed for relaxing, enjoying time together and making the most of island life.

The villa has a lovely sense of space, with the large Great Room opening towards the pool and beach and offering two separate areas for sitting and relaxing. There is plenty here for lazy days at the villa. The Great Room also includes a comfortable dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with a central island and breakfast bar, making it easy for everyone to gather together.

Outside, the covered poolside patio is the perfect spot for an alfresco lunch or evening meal, with the pool and beach providing a beautiful backdrop. And when it is time to cool off, you have the choice of your own pool or the warm Caribbean Sea.

The bedrooms are spacious and air conditioned, with private bathrooms and patios. The main pavilion includes a bedroom suite opening onto the pool terrace, together with a twin bedroom that can be accessed from either the master suite or the patio — a particularly useful arrangement for families with young children. There is also a separate two-storey pavilion, home to a new master suite and a sitting room/bedroom with sofabed. The large en-suite bathroom includes both indoor and outdoor showers, bringing a little extra tropical luxury to the experience.

Private, peaceful and right on one of Virgin Gorda’s prettiest beaches, Caribbean Wind is a wonderful place to slow down, reconnect and simply enjoy being in the BVI.

Trudi’s personal opinion

Caribbean Wind has one of those locations that is very hard to resist — right on Mahoe Bay with a private path leading straight down to beautiful white sand and wonderfully clear water. Swimming and snorkelling are just steps away, and there is also a pool for those days when you can’t decide between the two!

With five bedrooms spread across three pavilions, plus an additional sitting room/bedroom with sofabed, it can accommodate up to 12 guests. Two connecting bedrooms work particularly well for families, while another pavilion has two king suites for couples or extended family wanting more privacy. I especially liked the new pavilion, with its spacious master bedroom, lovely en-suite bathroom and outdoor shower with ocean views.

Set amongst mature palms and tropical flowers, Caribbean Wind feels private and wonderfully relaxed, yet The Baths, Spanish Town and Leverick Bay are all within easy reach. A fabulous choice for families and groups.

We just finished up a great stay at the Caribbean Wind on Mahoe Bay. Our visit had been delayed for two years due to COVID shutting down visits. Trudi King (Best of BVI) was tremendous in ensuring that our rental was preserved over the two year period. Our trip details were organized by Trudi including obtaining ferry reservations, rental cars, and for some family members, reserving a water taxi for direct transport from St. Thomas to Virgin Gorda. When we arrived, our care was taken over by Heather Kabel, the property manager. Heather was phenomenal in her support, providing recommendations for everything we needed. She made dinner reservations for us on two occasions and was available immediately if we had any questions or requests!

The Villa layout was perfect for our three families providing ample sleeping, bath, and privacy for each family. The family areas were perfect, whether eating inside or out (everyone fit for meals in each location). The beach and pool were perfect for us and our grandchildren and many hours were spent in each location. This is one place where the actual property exceeded the marketing pictures!

In summary, we are basking in the glow of spending a fine week in Virgin Gorda at the Caribbean Wind and highly recommend the property, and the top notch services from Best of BVI staff!

All your arrangements worked out great. The house was quite nice and as advertised. Velma was a wonderful housekeeper. The car was there and ready to go when we got to the airport in VG. Leticia showed up right away and got us out to the house.

Flying with Fly BVI worked out just like you would hope. The VG airport is a little exciting but our pilots both coming and going were very experienced and the propellers kept turning so it all worked out.

Our two favorite things about VG were the people and the weather. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. While it was still clear whose Island it is, we talked to lots of friendly people. Having traveled some in other parts of the Caribbean I can tell you that is not always the case. The weather was pretty much perfect which is always nice. We visited many of the spots on the island for tourists including the Baths, the National Park (climbed the Mt.), North Sound and thought we saw a pretty good cross section. We worked our way around the food and managed to eat pretty well. We are pretty resourceful when it comes to that stuff. We even got a guy on his bike to lead us to the M&M Bakery but it was closed.

We did get a little bug bitten but we know the deal on that. The snorkeling was a little stirred up but we knew that going in as well. We were pretty happy to read and play games by the pool and listen to the surf. All in all, it was a nice relaxing time and we were glad we went… Thanks for all the help.
