Villa description

Amazing flowers of the tropics greet visitors at this private home on the beach in picture-perfect Mahoe Bay on the island of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands. Caribbean Wind awaits you, complete with every amenity. Private, with its own pool and beach and next to a semi-private tennis court. Caribbean Wind features a large, tastefully decorated Great Room overlooking the pool and beach with two separate conversation seating areas. An entertainment centre with books, games, CD/Tape stereo system, a VCR and satellite TV are just some of the amenities provided at the villa. Dine in the formal dining area in the Great Room or alfresco on the adjoining poolside covered patio. The fully-equipped kitchen with centre island bar completes the Great Room. Caribbean Wind includes spacious, air conditioned bedrooms, each with private baths and patios. The master suite in the main pavilion, adjacent to the Great Room can be accessed from the pool patio. The twin bedroom can be accessed from the master suite or the patio, making it perfect for young children.

Completed in Dec 2014, a two-storey pavilion houses a new master bedroom suite and a sitting room/bedroom with a sofabed complete with large en suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers.

Caribbean Wind is perfectly positioned within steps of the pristine beach at Mahoe Bay, Virgin Gorda. The villa offers spacious accommodation with five bedrooms (plus sitting room/bedroom in new pavilion) located in three separate pavilions. Caribbean Wind is ideal for families with children of all ages as one of the bedroom pavilions offers two bedrooms with connecting doors. A second pavilion, with two king bedroom suites one above the other offers privacy for couples or extended family members. The living pavilion between the two bedroom pavilions houses a well-equipped kitchen, living and dining areas and is set in mature gardens with flowering tropical plants and palms.

I especially liked the location of the property with its own private path down to the white sands and turquoise waters where good swimming and snorkeling can be enjoyed by all. The new pavilion offers an exquisite spacious bedroom with a beautiful en suite bathroom with spacious shower plus an outdoor shower with ocean views. In addition, the adjacent sitting room has a sofabed which can be used as a 6th bedroom, accommodating up to 12 guests.

Caribbean Wind is the perfect villa to unwind yet still within an easy drive of The Baths, Spanish Town and Leverick Bay for watersports. Highly recommended!

    We just finished up a great stay at the Caribbean Wind on Mahoe Bay. Our visit had been delayed for two years due to COVID shutting down visits. Trudi King (Best of BVI) was tremendous in ensuring that our rental was preserved over the two year period. Our trip details were organized by Trudi including obtaining ferry reservations, rental cars, and for some family members, reserving a water taxi for direct transport from St. Thomas to Virgin Gorda. When we arrived, our care was taken over by Heather Kabel, the property manager. Heather was phenomenal in her support, providing recommendations for everything we needed. She made dinner reservations for us on two occasions and was available immediately if we had any questions or requests!

    The Villa layout was perfect for our three families providing ample sleeping, bath, and privacy for each family. The family areas were perfect, whether eating inside or out (everyone fit for meals in each location). The beach and pool were perfect for us and our grandchildren and many hours were spent in each location. This is one place where the actual property exceeded the marketing pictures!

    In summary, we are basking in the glow of spending a fine week in Virgin Gorda at the Caribbean Wind and highly recommend the property, and the top notch services from Best of BVI staff!

    All your arrangements worked out great. The house was quite nice and as advertised. Velma was a wonderful housekeeper. The car was there and ready to go when we got to the airport in VG. Leticia showed up right away and got us out to the house.

    Flying with Fly BVI worked out just like you would hope. The VG airport is a little exciting but our pilots both coming and going were very experienced and the propellers kept turning so it all worked out.

    Our two favorite things about VG were the people and the weather. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. While it was still clear whose Island it is, we talked to lots of friendly people. Having traveled some in other parts of the Caribbean I can tell you that is not always the case. The weather was pretty much perfect which is always nice. We visited many of the spots on the island for tourists including the Baths, the National Park (climbed the Mt.), North Sound and thought we saw a pretty good cross section. We worked our way around the food and managed to eat pretty well. We are pretty resourceful when it comes to that stuff. We even got a guy on his bike to lead us to the M&M Bakery but it was closed.

    We did get a little bug bitten but we know the deal on that. The snorkeling was a little stirred up but we knew that going in as well. We were pretty happy to read and play games by the pool and listen to the surf. All in all, it was a nice relaxing time and we were glad we went… Thanks for all the help.
