Virgin Gorda

Seaglass Villa, Nail Bay

Villa description

Seaglass Villa sits 400 feet above sea level at the base of Gorda Peak and offers panoramic views of the Sir Francis Drake Channel and enjoys almost constant trade wind breezes. Designed and landscaped for privacy and relaxation, Seaglass consists of a two-bedroom, two-bath main house and a one-bedroom guest suite – Seaglass Studio, both fully furnished, each with its own separate pool, patio and grill.

The main house has an open-concept living area with a bright and airy fully-equipped kitchen with custom bamboo cabinetry, glass-infused concrete countertops and breakfast bar, a spacious living room and dining area, and is the perfect space for entertaining. A spiral staircase leads to a mezzanine, with a queen-sized futon for extra overnight guests, and an outdoor balcony, perfect for stargazing and taking in amazing sunsets and views of surrounding islands. The two bedrooms at Seaglass Villa flank the Great Room and open directly onto the expansive patio with pool, lounge chairs, covered outdoor dining and tropical gardens; the master bedroom has a large, screened-in outdoor shower.

Seaglass Studio is cleverly designed and well proportioned, making great use of the interior space, and has most of the amenities – in both the house and the surrounding area – that guests might reasonably require while on vacation in the BVI. The Studio is furnished with comfortable modern furniture using restful colours and good-quality linens.

Seaglass Villa and Studio is the perfect setting for a truly rewarding and relaxing vacation, whether you spend it reading a great book by the pool, exploring the island’s many secluded beaches and other natural features or sampling local cuisine with friends and family.

Seaglass Villa and Studio are never rented separately, assuring privacy at all times.

Trudi’s personal opinion

Simple and elegant contemporary design, together with choice pieces of furniture and original artwork make this villa totally unique, and undeniably pleasing to the eye. What’s more, Seaglass is a great choice for guests seeking a modern property close to the beach – it’s only a five-minute drive to nearby Nail Bay and Mountain Trunk Bay for some wonderful swimming and snorkeling. The bedrooms are well spaced, on either side of the Great Room, making this an excellent choice for two guests seeking a spacious villa, although it can be combined with Seaglass Studio for up to six guests. My favourite place is without a doubt the mezzanine with its wraparound outside deck, and – I think – some of the most incredible ocean views you’ll ever have the good fortune to see. It’s an amazing place, one we highly recommended!

We would rate Seaglass Villa 10 stars out of 10. Everything was wonderful; perfect balance of elegant and casual. The villa exceeded expectations. When you see such beautiful photos on the web you expect to be let down when you see it for real. The villa – and the sweeping views – were even more beautiful in real life than the pictures would suggest. Selfishly, I don’t want anyone else to know about it! But seriously… would absolutely recommend.

We had a WONDERFUL time at Seaglass. What can I say!!…….. What value indeed 🙂 we absolutely loved the place…. The views were amazing, the staff were wonderful, I truly think that this is the best villa around on Virgin Gorda, and we had this to ourselves for 8 days! Thank you so much for the recommendation – it truly was a beautiful, open airy villa.

Seaglass was excellent in all regards – clean, well-equipped and comfortable. Seaglass was an exceptional experience, the house itself was fantastic. Great Wi-fi, TV is satellite and sometimes tricky but you won’t care. The views, the equipment and the staff who serviced the house were all top flight. The manager was outstanding and the housekeeper was excellent. You might find the isolated location up the hill a bit much but that turned out to be just great also; the driveway was thrilling to negotiate each day.

We loved the new restaurant at Nail Bay and ate there three times. Hog’s Heaven, is just up the road. Virgin Gorda is small but there’s enough to keep you busy for 7-10 days or more. Life is good here.
